Restaurant Supply?
Submitted by fyl on Mon, 2008/10/06 - 10:46.
I am looking for a restaurant supply company. I have found Economart but at least their on-line information indicates lack of selection/options. While I am not going to buy anything this week/month, I would like to find out what is available in Nicaragua, particularly with regard to kitchen equipment, so we can finish the kitchen planning. Or particular interest (because they need space allocated and gas, water and/or electric connections) are:
- Stoves
- Multi-tank sink
- Fryer
- Broiler
- Kitchen work tables
Other items, from blenders to china to microwaves are of interest but we don't need to make any decisions about them soon. Thanks.

Great work
Great work, folks. Clearly, NicaLiving has proved to be a lot more useful than the yellow pages. Now I just need to prepare myself for a Managua shopping trip.
I got a kick-ass..
juice press at; Importadora de Maquinaria Industrial
Km 3.5 Car. Norte, Managua- 249-6970
they had many of the other items you listed as well

With oven?
A place a few blocks of PriceFart (whose name I have written down somewhere but it is Cocinas something) makes stoves but not with ovens.
Also, I was very impressed with EconoMart for having the kind of stuff a restaurant needs. As for some of the other suggestions, by back and my lack of love for Managua cut my trip short. Our new goal is to find a "Managua buyer" to do our shopping down there. We now realize this will be an ongoing project--today for stuff to put CoolTop together and, in the future, to buy supplies that just aren't available up here.
Economart Location?/
If anyone has...appreciate it.

No oven..
but it may be the same place, and I think I remember him calling them House of Kitchens. Sorry to hear of your back bothering you, the road to Matagalpa does the same to me, I wish I had saved my old motocross 'kidney belt', the Managua buyer is a great idea, I have no real desire to be there any longer than necessary .

This is the place!
Thanks Doug!
There is a store on C. Norte
I'll try to get the exact location on my next trip to Managua.
I have seen used equipment and new equipment there. I am talking about institutional type kitchen equipment.
Alike is basically a boutique store that caters to "gringos" with too much money on their hands. Some of their items are commercial grade but that comprises a small portion of their selection.
For Stainless steel work tables you may wish to try Price Smart. They had a 4 foot table for about $ 120.-- or so.
There is also a store near Plaza Espania that will build you any type of stove, broiler or fryer you need. I had good luck with them. Good service and very accommodating.
or several of the items you're looking for you might try . . .
or several of the items you're looking for you might try . . . "Alke", there is one across the street from Metro Centro and there is also one in Santo Domingo Las Galerias
IMI
I have looked into IMI before and they have a decent selection of items for restaurant. They have no website but their phone is 249-6970 and email megaserviciosgt@yahoo.com. another is cuman enterprise (http://cumanenterprise.com/coci.htm) and there is also AYRE S.A. (ayreycia.com).
