You should slap yourself for using the word comparison my friend.

There is NO Comparison for ANY of the Nicaraguan Caribean coast with SJDS.

Nicaraguan Caribean coast beaches Can however be compared with Cozumel and Belize, and ours are better coze they are Prestine, unspoiled,only problem is access, other than that Nicaraguan RANN/RASS coast Freaking Rules!!! :-)

SJDS vs. Corn Island Beaches.

A picture was posted today of a beach in SJDS.

This picture is of a beach in Corn Island on the "Atlantic Coast".

Would anyone like to compare the two beaches?

If one islooking for beaches in Nicaragua, then the Atlantic is the where one should go.... Corn Island, Little Corn, the Pearl Cays, Long Beach, and excellent snorkeling/Scuba in the Miskito Cays. Big Corn and Little Corn for large fan corals and plenty of sunken ships.

Yet that area remains pretty much undeveloped???? Mr. Ray Hodgeson explained to me that it had to do with a power struggle between Managua and the Autonomous regions of the RAAN and the RAAS. Therefore the lack of interest in building roads, etc... The only time they came close is back in the late nineties, when Aleman and his folks started buying land where the Canal project was/is going to be....Near Monkey Point. People actually started thinking that things will change. But nothing really happened,as usual with the RAAN and the RAAS.

I research all the time and I run across three blogs on the tourist forum where they stated in the month of August that 4 people were robbed and assualted on little corn island and one in Bluefields and the police didn't do anything. Hard for me to belive that on two small islands that the police can't find the criminals who carry guns and rob people. The business people should protest loudly about this, unless they don't need tourist. If this trend is not controlled I for one will carry my own gun, I am hoping that nicaragua has the right to bear arms if not then I am going to be an illegal resident.

Miskito Alan says that the 2 incidents happened in Little Island and Corn Island and not in Bluefields as you posted.

The "backpackers" go to the 2 islands and put a hammock between 2 coconut trees or sleep in U$2/per night rooms with no locks on the doors and expect to have security.

This thing is total bullshit. Nobody in this world sleeps in a room with no locks nowhere in this whole frigging world.

Bluefields is no island and please link me to your source about Bluefields and I'm very tired of all this bullshit when people are assaulted everyday on the Pacific Coast and because these things happen so seldom on the Atlantic Coast that people want to jump all over it and talk bullshit. _____________________________________________________________________
