I'm curious if anyone can recommend a hospedaje more or less close to the airport. When I land somewhere I haven't been before, I like to arrive early so I can get a feel for the place and all, but flights into Nicaragua from Houston land around 8pm so I won't be able to follow that norm. Any simple hospedaje close to the airport that you all might be able to recommend would be greatly appreciated. On the outward flight I have the reverse problem where the flight leaves really early (lucky me), so if there is anything you all know of close by I'll be dropping in on it at least twice this trip. Thanks in advance for the advice!

How about Hotel Las Mercedes( Best Western) it's across from the airport.You can walk there if you wish. I'm flying from Chicago to Houston, arrives in Mga at 12.16 p.m.- Continental airline.

I stayed there twice. Clean. Efficient. No hookers in the lobby. Good food and bar.
Not cheap...about 70 USD but you can walk across the road and be there.
if you want to suffer for a night, you can trapse a coupel of miles and get a cheaper less convienent place. But why. Proves nothing.

You may want to try a search for "Managua airport hotels" just be sure to select Nicaragua Living as the search area.
As far as I'm aware there are only hotels near the Airport.
