![]() I don't think I have ever used the term surreal to describe a grocery store opening before, but it was like a Luis Bunuel film only louder. And every one was having a great time the gringos were giddy with deli meats and cheese, the Nicas were dazed and amazed by the variety everything from Chef Boyardee Spaghetteos to fresh pulpos on ice. Even the most "street" people had a look of pride on their faces because now their city the oldest in las Americas can compete with Managua. The free samples flowed like water, the bands and stereos battled each other and giant corporate mascots made all the little kids cry...I have been twice today and I am going back at 7 for the fire works....
