Worms/ VermicultureSubmitted by Amanda on 19 July, 2008 - 08:56.
I know there are a couple of places practicing vermiculture here...I found one in San Rafael del Sur and think another was mentioned in Esteli. Does anyone know of somewhere closer to Granada; I want to get some worms...looking for about 1 lb. Also, does anyone know what the "going rate" for worms is? Thanks ( categories: )

A clue
Not an answer but a clue. Some NGO (I don't know who) is involved in the vermiculture stuff in the Estelí area. Our ex-caretaker's wife got an assortment of things (zinc, fencing and worms) on a program to help rural woman. As she explained it, it was a "loan" program where she got something like C$10,000 of products and had to eventually pay back C$5000. (I want to find some loans like that myself.)
In any case, doing some searches for NGO, women and Nicaragua may turn something up.
