Work Permit in Nicaragua?Submitted by BBLinda on 15 July, 2008 - 15:49.
Hey everybody, I am new to this site and I hope you can give me any information how difficult it is to get a work permit in Nicaragua as an EU citizen? Also, would my kids need any student visa to go to school or depending on my work permit? Would it be possible just to come on a tourist visa (how long can we get it) and put the kids in school? Thanks in advance, hope to get many answers :)

not a chance. do a search on
not a chance. do a search on this site for info. Your kids need to bring 11 cents US to school everyday to give to the teacher to help keep the lights on.
Schools
Hi and thanks for your answer, but I think I didnt understand it totally ;) Does this mean that there are no good schools in Nicaragua? Or did you refer to the work permit situation?
There are lots of good schools in Nicaragua
Just don't expect them to be as well equipped as the ones in Europe. If, for example, you are expecting that each child in school will have access to a computer you will be disappointed.
In order to get a realistic answer to your work permit question, I'd suggest you contact one of the larger law firms in Managua. Most of them will answer some basic questions. In many cases it will depend on the duration of your stay and the type of work you wish to perform.
Good luck.
Schools etc.
Thanks!
work
only if it benefits the gov´t of Nic. and does not compete with Nic. applicants. School quality varies, don´t expect yours kids to have daily access to books. Stepson is currently studying the Battle of Troy, which puts him about 45 years behind me!!!
