San Cristobol Sneezes

Reuters reported that the San Cristobol volcano rumbled a bit and spewed ash on Friday. It sits northeast of Chinandega and is the northmost of the chain of volcanos there. (Volcan Consiguina which sits adjacent to the Gulf of Fonseca is further north but quite separated from the others.)

Nicaragua's geographic institute Ineter said the San Cristobal volcano produced a series of tremors in recent weeks but said it did not pose an immediate risk to communities living in surrounding areas.
