Sooner, not a good company

My recommendation is to stay away from this company. I bought a house from them last year and I am very disappointed with the way this company does business. I prepay the house in September. First, they promised the house ready by mid October, I went to Nicaragua on mid November - 60% completed. Stayed in Managua for two weeks - 5%, or fewer advances. Finally, they completed the house in January. Contractors and Sub-contractors complained of lack of payment and delayed the job. Engineer in charge of the project lied to me several times about scheduling and completing tasks. Office, very nice people but unable to do anything with field staff and project. It looks they do not have enough working capital and competent executives that properly supervise the projects. In addition, you cannot sue them because the owner, Architect Mario Salinas, is one of president Ortega's best friends and is a high government officer

WOOOOW Thanks man!

Hey Uhh NIca real thanks a lot man that was some cool info you gave us, evan for me being that i get around a lot thanks dude! but the question still remains are they good? I mean Cmon all construction companies make mistakes right? Hey thunderdial whats that date all about? Do you mean wait for the stupid dictator Bachi to fall? Will305 is that a good thing or a bad?

Ehem, please keep all

Ehem, please keep all package extraction conversation offline.

Thanx

Their salespeople are very pushy

If you express the slightest bit of interest they will hound you 'till the day you die.

I would steer clear of real

I would steer clear of real estate transactions until after 7/11.

Splain Lucy...

Oh my god I'm showing my age again...

Seriously, what is up with that?

We are in the throws of

We are in the throws of change. The only business I would be doing in Nicaragua before 7/11 is at the pulperias.

Sonner real estate is the Shit!

I dont know if palma nova is already all sold out that was a good and cheap one, unfortunitly my dad bought a house with carrion cruz or cobrisa for that matter and the work and materials they used are crappy, i myself had to invest like US$800 dollors to replace some crappy door frames they used that was from cheap wood and was termite infested, also shower heads were i had to evan change the pipes because they did'nt match all the stuff i bought @ home Depo etc etc. In all i've heard that all have there share of problems but some obviously less than the other, i like sooner because there roofing material is good and there designs are kinda nice. All in all i think there good if not one of the best after lacayo fiallos and good prices too, im evan thinking of buying with them in the future. Im good with helping people as long as there here for something possitive so feel free to contact me any time my general help is free for the time being since i still havent opend my business so hit me up!

Sooner from a different pespective

About a year or so ago I had some business dealings with Sooner. They wanted one of my firms to provide a specific service for them. After many, many meetings that led nowhere we found out that they were simply gathering as much info as they could and were playing several competitors against each other.

End result: Not one of the firms they were playing against each other took the contract. We all walked away.

At about the same time they wanted someone to finish the Villa Fontana high rise project for them. As some of you will know, the building is still unfinished and will likely have to be torn down if the project is to go ahead.

Portofino in San Juan Del Sur was likely their most expensive mistake. It appears that someone forgot to take soil samples. The construction site appears to be mostly sand and since it is located on a hill it will require extensive shoring and support work. It appears that this project is now no longer going ahead. It may well be revived at a later date but I really doubt that the project will be built producing any profit for the Sooner group of companies.

I have heard some favorable comments about some of their other projects. I suppose it depends on circumstances and being at the right place at the right time.
