This site is no different from any other blogs, which are the modern version, not defined by time and space, of sitting around on barstools and talking, giving opinions, arguing, etc. Everyone is free to express themselves as much as they like, and the occasional brawl breaks out. Sometimes it is easy to see who has had one too many drinks...
Not exactly the same
Been in plenty of barrooms & never saw one with a banner saying their purpose to be "Make information on Nicaragua available, particularly to English-speaking people who have or will move there. Content is a cooperative effort from this same community".
My solution would be more content placed by the entire community
I am sure fyl would like that as much as everyone else. I am not there right now, so I am not a candidate, but those of you living there should post more blog entries!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fyl should post whatever he wants to, everyone else does. He puts the whole thing together and does a great job. I appreciate this site, but get tired of the bashing from those that have had too many.

Let's hear more on how he can get silverware on Nica flights (to where, one might ask, but we are afraid to because of the lecture on the perils of USA we would get). Amen..let's get on with making this a site to share info and cut the BS. ATZ

My vote is for number 6 also. There are more then enough sources of noise and static for the other items.

I figure what ever gets people to talk. We are all here because we want to know more about Nicaragua, but let's face it sometimes Nicaragua is like that small town where nothing ever happens.

My vote - all of the above and more.
So we go around again on what will make NL a better site. It is always a worthy subject.
But it is also worthwhile to remember who created the site and maintains it so we can all complain about him. Fyl might seem a dictator to some (not me) but we should all admit he's a pretty tolerant one. If he sometimes slips into his own personal interests or pet peeves, well who hasn't? I'm sure we can find ways to distract him back to what we consider "real" Nicaragua issues.
