That's awesome but

did you compare the coverage by El Nuevo Diario? The article is almost hidden, very short, and no mention of the dissatisfaction with Ortega.

What a contrast, but of course we know El Nuevo Diario is run by the Ortega crowd.

El Nuevo Diario is the best paper going at present

El Nuevo Diario is in no way run by the Frente. In fact, recently the paper has been far more effective in its criticism of the government than the hysterical Prensa with its light on fact criticisms. El Nuevo Diario has unearthed a number of issues that La Prensa went on to pick up.

Surprising

Your statement is pretty off-base. END editorial policy seems to be pretty much in line with the MRS. And the MRS is the primary organizer of this action. If anything, the lack of END coverage is just because the story just isn't ready yet.

El Nuevo Diario has

always been pro FSLN, just in case you were unaware of this well known fact. Funny how we all interpret thing differently as we age. And by the way, the did amplify their coverage later in the day, as it was hidden earlier, but they couldn't keep it hidden for long.

This is old hat and still very relevant:

"La Prensa took an increasingly anti-Sandinista stand in the years following the 1979 revolution" and it still does

"Jaime Chamorro's brother, Xavier, edits the pro-Government daily Nuevo Diario..." which it still is...

Read the article if you don't know who is who:

That's funny

You point to a 21 year old article to support your position. Possibly reading END and seeing their current position would be a bit closer to reality.

What is END?

The reality is that El Nuevo Diario is Pro Frente and La Prensa is Anti-Frente. These are longstanding positions that I do not need to try to justify, it is what it is... I don't write for either one. Regardless, the news entities in Nicaragua leave alot to be desired, do you watch the ridiculous nightly news? It makes me laugh...

WHat is END by the way? And stop picking on me for participating and expressing my opinion, even if you don't agree with me or think I am some dumb animal....

END

is El Nuevo Diario.

You are mistaken

El Nuevo Diario (END) is not supporting the FSLN government. They feel equally threatened by the cone of silence governmenal information policy as other media and they have been subjected to bitter criticism by President Ortega and his ministers. La Prensa which also owns channel 2, is in an open war with the government. It is likely that their editor Jaime Chamorro, will be indicted in the CENI prosecution in July. He and the editorial editor Eduardo Enriquez were convicted of slander in a CPC sponsored trial two months ago, a case of highly dubious legal quality by many standards. Interestingly, and contrary to your theory the END slammmed the trial judge's decision and did a highly critical investigative piece on the private prosecutor in the La Prensa slander case.

I for one want you to express your opinion, but things change rapidly here and in the end we are foreigners and the Nicas run the circus. What was right a year ago is wrong today, particularly in politics.

cool

no prob

Keep The Faith??

Keep hoping that Ortega's next move is not against the imperialistist pig gringos. You are doing your best to stay on his good side, better pray it works.
