Great Speech At The Inauguration?
During the inauguration of the the oil fired generating plants on Saturday evening, President Ortega as reported in La Prensa, El Nuevo Diario and transmitted live on channel 4 in Managua called the E.U Committee in charge of budget support (donations and concessionary loans) to Nicaragua, " Flies that stop in filth". He also said that "Nicaragua would not sell out for thirty coins and that the country of Nicaragua was not Judas and would never sell out for mere money". Estimates of budget support from the E.U which include France, Spain, Denmark, Netherlands, Finland and Norway are as high as 500 million dollars per year in discretionary spending. What inspired this attack? Apparently a communique printed in local news media and formally delivered to the Nicaraguan foreign service by the Ambassador to the E.U. which chastized the President for closing democratic spaces by decapitating two political parties earlier in the week.
well...
at least he got the filth part right..
