Beer in Nicaragua

We were talking to Oscar, one of the "family" that runs La Familia B and B in Alajuela. It turns out he is a "beer expert". He worked for CCR (Cerveceria Costa Rica) for 23 years until he was replaced by a machine.

He told us the best beer here is Toña from Nicaragua and CCR sales are done. He attributes that to the invasion of Toña. Not the "export crop" I expected to hear about but certainly a good thing for Nicaragua.
