Peñas Blancas

Looking up at the cascada. DO NOT MISS a trip up to Peñas Blancas. Its on the road to La Dalia, about an hour up from there. It is the best nature reserve I have been to in the country, and I have been to a bunch. You walk an hour straight up the peñas and when you get out of the heavy forested areas, you walk up onto the giant waterfall--so big you can see from the highway. The cooperativa also makes overnight camping trips to the very top. Anyone that lives up there or is familiar with that part of the country knows that Peñas Blancas is a towering range, and absolutely beautiful from all angles.
