Spay and neuter clinicSubmitted by Bobby on 31 March, 2008 - 11:14.
I received the following from Donna and thought I'd pass it on. H Everyone, Casa Lupita will once again open its doors for a three-day spay and neuter clinic beginning on Monday, April 1. If you have a dog or cat to be sterilized please call me at 852 0210 to schedule a time for your pet. Yes, I did purchase a new phone. And yes, I did find my lost phone about 10 minutes after I bit the bullet and purchased the new one. Surgeries will be performed by Dr. Tom Parker, our volunteer veteran vet from Santa Fe, NM., and will be assisted by veterinary techs Toni Edwardson, Finn O';Riley Downling, and Claudio Mayorga. Other clinic volunteers will be Nicholas Edwardson, Kit Cooper, and me. In addition to spay and neuter services for your pets, we also can attempt to capture and sterilize feral cats from your rooftops using our HaveAHeart traps. Once sterilized, the cat will have to be returned to its haunt, but in all probability, it will be a lot more docile and pleasant after a forced visit with us. Please remember not to allow your pet to eat or drink after midnight before its surgery. Also, do encourage your neighbors or employees to take advantage of this opportunity for their pets too. The more spays and neuters (especially spays) that we can accomplish, the faster we can reduce the stray, homeless dog situation in our community. Many of you have already noticed that our clinic has made a dramatic and positive impact in this regard in the past year and a half. As always, there is no charge for the surgeries. But there is a cost to us for the anesthesia, clinic supplies and other medications used to treat infections and parasites. To help us keep our clinic in service, please plan to leave a donation of any amount -----either cash or dog food. You can further help by getting the word out to the community about the upcoming clinie. We're looking forward to seeing you and servicing your pet by putting it OUT of service. And remember, Spay...Don't Litter! Reliable Vet for Neutering?
Hello--
My boyfriend and I adopted a Nicaraguan mutt puppy last November. He is a little over seven months old, and starting to exhibit aggressive behavior, so we are hoping to have him neutered in the near future. We have heard horror stories about unqualified/unknowledgeable veterinarians in the country, and are nervous about having him undergo surgery. Are there any recommendations for good vets skilled in performing the neutering surgery? We live in Esteli and don't have a vehicle but could travel to Managua or surrounding areas if absolutely necessary. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much.
