For Sale - Yamaha 1980 Chappy 80cc Cycle / MinibikeSubmitted by mjt on 12 March, 2008 - 18:50.
Note this was originally billed by Yamaha as a "moped", but it does not have pedals. Would be considered "street legal" in the States (has speedometer, lights, blinkers, etc.), with am 80cc engine (2-stroke) and a auto transmission (2-speed - with a high and a low range). Has a "Step-through" frame, and a small metal luggage rack on the back. This bike was more popular out the States than in, and the only two good sites I found after a short look, are in French. See here for specs and images: & http://chappyyamaha.free.fr/contenu/02.html I can provide email images of the actual bike early next week. My Dutch neighbor in HN is the owner/seller. Bike looks and runs great (25+ years and looks nearly new); has just over 5400 miles on it and was fully tuned and given new tires by Yamaha of Honduras in 2006. Is currently licensed in Honduras (bikes under 100cc are treated differently here, and older small bikes can still be imported here) - and I have no idea what can/cant be done in Nicaragua - so if interested, do your own research. I assume it could always be used on private property if it can't be licensed in Nica, as I know people who do that with other smaller bikes they have brought in - but again do your own research. 100% Japan. Price is L13,000 - but it can be bought in Euros, Dollars or Lempiras. The sale can be handled inside Banco Atlantida if requested (Tegucigalpa or San Marcos). Bike can be delivered to San Marcos de Colon or Danli, for a tiny fee, but not across the border. If interested, email me here on Nicaliving. ( categories: )
