typical constructionSubmitted by Billy Bob on 11 March, 2008 - 14:41.
![]() This is typical construction for the area. Concrete pillars and beams with Rebar reinforcing provides the structure. Mortared brick fills in the voids. Local masons are well aware of the codes. This is a one story building so it has 4 sticks of 3/8 inch rebar in 15 cm concrete. 2 story requires 6 1/2 sticks in 20 cm concrete. Watch out for metric measurement rebar because it is thinner. Also watch out for old work or homeowner stuff that may not be up to code. ( categories: )
