Options for Money Transfer to Nicaraguan Banks

The question "How do I get money from an external account when I am in Nicaragua" comes up regularly. There is already quite a bit of advice here but pretty scattered. Brady Dunklee did some homework and produced a summary document and posted it to the Ben Linder mailing list.
While the research was for the purpose of determining how an NGO could do transfers, I see nothing in it that would be unique to an NGO.

A point of contact
As listed on Mr. Dunklee's 'summary document', HiFX provides a more cost effective and efficient solution when exchanging currency for things like property purchase, overseas mortgages, business purchases, pension transfers, etc. We are headquartered in the UK with six offices globally. I am an Account Manager out of our San Francisco location and will be happy to serve as a point of contact for anybody trying to get funds to/from Nicaragua. I currently work with many of the agents and developers on the ground in Nica and am very familiar with the market and trends. All of our services are free and hold no obligation.
