terminating a leaseSubmitted by Jinoturistica on 3 March, 2008 - 17:43.
On the average, if I terminate my lease 4 months early, will I be liable for the 4 months? If I am, how long would I be able to drag it out? I need every minute!

Look on the termination clause
Review the "termination" clause on the lease or ask advice from an attorney. In general the answer would be yes, but some leases have opt-out options, such as a 30 days notice, a reduced payment or no payment at all when someone would rent it before the end of the lease period. Other leases allow subleasing of the property with the owner's consent and get complete release of liability. Basically, you are bounded for what is agreed upon on the lease document.
