yes i messed up so.,and i cant see the string you to ask me that. i solve already my problem lol and you dont care where i want to start lol. this is my way on how to solve my confussion and this is all about between me and peter, so now why are you inter up? ohhh i see, you are the one fret for peter, may i knew the reason why lol.? oupppssss nevermined, i dont care.

When I was young and in the PI I had a great time. A bottle of beer was like 11 cents and so was pretty much everything else. I would go out for a night of all you can think of and just bring a twenty dollar bill.

I left my Ship at the Ammo Pier in Olongapo. The Ammo Pier was about an hour bus ride through various marine check points until you got to the main base where all of the services are; Baskin Robbins, Mc Donalds, Post Office, just like and American Town. It was a Huge base. Once on the main base one could leave the base and walk into town. Olongapo was something out of a movie. So many colors, so many smells, so many people. The US Fleet was coming into town and it even impacted the conversion rate for American.

I crossed the Subic River. The sailors all call it a different name river that is not that nice. Boys on bonka boats on both side of the bridge hoping Americans would throw coins in for them to dive for. It was agaist a general order to throw coins or anything else in because of health reasons. Going into town one is immediately confronted by people selling everything known to man and wanted by young sailors. What can you say about the first girl you see after crossing the S*** River?

Before entering the PI all of us were given a flier of things to do and not do there. It always stated the place that the navy considered off-limits, and that was sort of a code of the place to go. It also mentioned the countrys drug laws that are very hard. Long prison terms for even small amounts. To people like me that just meant you had to be really careful.One way of being careful was to get a girl friend (Honeycone pronounced Honey-co). They would take care of all the little things you needed and were a gigantic shield between you and the rest of the country. Apparently you were an investment to them worth protecting. They let you have as much fun as possible but keep you away from the other girls and do not let you waste your money on anyone but them.

Like most of the guys there, I met a girl. I do not even remember her name, but they were like fake American names like Suzy and the like. They all had American names. Almost like the strippers that have names here Like Diamond or Venus. So my girl, let me just call her Suzy. She met me about 2:00 in the afternoon. The night before I had the mid watch pulling into port (Midnight until 4:00am). Then we were all raised out of our bunks earlier than usual because we were pulling into port. They need all hands for that kind of thing, or at least that is what they told us. So I essentially had no sleep that night.

I had asked Suzy if we could go to her place pretty early in the evening, but she would hear nothing of it. "We go bar hop" she told me more than one time.

We went to these cool bars with live music. Drinks were cheap and the sights even cheaper. I seen girls serving drinks in bikini bathing suits that said stuff on the behind like "Bye me drink". The band was playing current cover music (I remember Led Zeplin and Scorpions). There were statues on the stage with lights coming out of their eyes. I seen drunk sailors falling down on women and women screaming at sailors for who knows what reason. We drank until after midnight.

My honey-co finally took me home. She got us a ride on one of those three wheeled numbers. I remember the driver taking us straight into a tent or some other lighted things full of people and then turning at the last minute. I felt like there were only two wheels on the ground most of the ride. When we get to her place I seem to remember her sort of helping me along. There were people on her front porch smoking pot and they had a monkey. When they were passing the joint around the monkey never missed a hit.

We went inside. It was like a house divided into rooms with sheets. We went into my honey-co's section and there she had everything in the world that she owned. Not too much. After a little romance I tried to sleep. She made fun of me and took my picture with my camera while I was trying. I remember going to the bathroom and seeing these giant lizards on the wall of the shower.

Our orders were to be back to the ship at 7:00. As you remember the ship was a good hour into the jungle once you get on the base. I went out to the front of the house and seen one my friends. The first thing out of his mouth was. "what do you think of those house lizards?" How in the world did we end up the same spot that night. We caught a 4 wheeled taxi, Jeep-ney, together and made it to the ship on time. I really hadn't had any sleep that night or the night before. When we all showed up with our division the boss said, "Okay, nobody is dead or in jail, go back and have a good time." So off we went, back into town. Funny thing, as soon as I crossed the S*** river I seen Suzy waiting for me. Pretty much everything that happened the first day there happened the second. When I was saying how tired I was she was telling me we go bar hop. She gave me something the helped with my being so tired that seemed to work. I had to get back to my ship in the middle of the jungle by 7:00 again. This time I went to my bunk for some rest. That really must have thrown Suzy off when I didn't come marching right back into town that day. I was able to avoid her and get a jeep-ney into Subic City (after attempting a couple hours of sleep on my ship).

People like he should always be put under the spotlight. Like cockroaches, they generally shun the light.

They move from one hiding place to another until the exterminator catches up with them. From what I know of the Philippines, the good folks there know how to take care of their own.

Now I would never call him a cockroach. You all know that I am too polite for that :-) but... the similarities are striking.

I am sorry I told that story, it was insensitive of me to do so. It is not fair to lump a whole country together as one thing. In fact I hate it when it happens to me. However, I have been to Manila. I stayed in the Holiday Inn one time and the Marriott another. It was not that long ago and there was not a US Navy base in sight. I seen pretty much the same thing. The streets are in better shape and the people are dressed better. It was not even as crude (like no girls yelling at me out on the street), but it was the PI. Same things, same scams, same girls, everything else same-same. I went to have a beer and before I could set it down on the bar I had a young lady asking me to buy her a drink. (For the record I told her to take a hike too). That is all I have to say about that.

I can tell you all a crazy crazy story about how I almost got arrested there for smoking a joint one time if you want. But you have to ask to hear it and you have to ask nice. Oh yeah, the arrest happened during an orgy with about a dozen people.
