To Phil: Survey ObservationSubmitted by K7 on 15 January, 2008 - 16:42.
From your Linux Journal article: "...The survey I wanted ...is about what a Gringo might want in the way of housing if he were to move to Nicaragua." Having looked at the survey, It feels more like gathering and providing information for developers than for users. |

The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of a private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. |
Is there a difference?
The survey was inspired by a discussion here where people were stating their opinion on what a Gringo wanted. Fine for opinion but lots of differences of opinion.
So, we have a survey. The information is, of course, designed to be useful to developers. If one picks anything other than raw land or land with utilities in the survey then it will be a developer/builder that creates what that person is looking for. Thus, the idea is to get those that develop in tune with those that are/will be looking.
Now, I did have one person suggest an additional survey that I plan to run after this one. It is a survey of people that have moved to Nicaragua and lived here for at least two years. The questions will be designed to help a prospective new resident get an idea how things might really be for them.
