Iran's Friend Bush?Submitted by fyl on 12 January, 2008 - 11:37.
I read a few "conservative" opinion pieces today but, The Conservative Voice was far the best of the week. It is a rant about Bush being Iran's friend. It's relatively amusing.
Now, there is a specific Nicaragua part. Here it is: Bush has provided Iran with concessions in Nicaragua by permitting Iran to take Daniel Ortega as a strategic partner. Ortega wants to provide Iran with access to Nicaraguan military bases. From military bases in Nicaragua Iran could mount terrorist operations throughout Central America and the Caribbean. Moreover, once provided bases in Nicaragua, Iran could join forces against the US with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and Evo Morales. Apparently The Conservative Voice didn't notice that the U.S. candidate for president of Nicaragua didn't win this time. That, well, the U.S. may just need to accept that Nicaragua isn't a U.S. state for the next few years. ( categories: )

Avoid
I try to avoid hard core liberal or conservative pieces, although its funny to read em once in a while just to make fun of glaring mistakes (especially concerning FP) by the author(s). Thats why I stick to the real, and in my opinion unbiased, Pro's such as "Foreign Affairs" and "Foreign Policy". "The Economist" and "WSJ" are also excellent publications although they tend to lean a bit right (editorials, and some FP articles) "Time" I read just for the heck of it but after been a subscriber for several years now I find it less and less interesting, its like they have dumbed down the magazine to make it more appealing to the masses.
The author of this piece...
has written some other very strange articles. How anyone could take his offering seriously.... Dan Polley
