The future of Pulperias

I still like the personal touch of a Pulperia, but this would be kind of neat. Vending Machine or Pulperia?

I don't think you'll find it on your CDs . . . I haven't seen or heard it on mine or in any of my dictionaries either.

Is it a Spanish Dictionary, Latin American Dictionary, Nicaraguan Dictionary? Just because it's not in a dictionary you happen to have, doesn't mean it's not a real word.

No Pete, I was looking in a Norweigian disctionary and could find pulperia . . . ; ) You kill me ; ) Oh, I know it's a real word . . . and my dictionario is muy basic . . . I meant I hadn't been able to find it in "a" spanish language dictionary and I was curious about it's etymological root. Thanks for the link. MA should contribute his version to Wikipedia . . . ; )

Pulperias originally only sold octopus meat, but, the pulperias kept adding other items due to demand for beer and rum and finally all pulperias stopped selling lobster meat due to the popularity of turtle meat.

Ok, maybe a light drizzle. Perhaps it's called a pulperia because when it's full of kids, the proprietor has to have 8 arms to reach all the candy and gum, take the kids' money, smack the kids that are shoplifting, and operate the caja.

Or, maybe it's because they sell octopus.
