Sailing and DolphinsSubmitted by DanPolley on 8 November, 2007 - 13:08.
![]() We went sailing yesterday and saw many dolphins. The winds were great in the morning and not so great in the afternoon but we had a wonderful time sailing and playing in the ocean and on the beach. A complete gallery is available at http://www.dancesar.com/ ( categories: )

looks like fun!
Spent a few days in SJDS and the wind didn’t stop blowing, so I’ll bet its a great place for sailing. Off the California coast these guys would follow our bows for days on a research vessel I worked on. A few times we found ourselves in the middle of a sea of dolphins as far you could see in all directions.
Yes it is a great place for sailing
I don't own a boat but several of my friends do and really enjoy sailing both north and south. I am still hoping to get my "great whale shot". I have seen several but not close enough for a good photo. Dan Polley
Thanks, Dan -
could you tell how many pods you saw? Or were there just a bunch of them?
i think there were two pods
The first group didn't see fit to visit us and I could only guess that we saw about a half dozen in that group. The second group had at least a dozen. We also saw several (6-8) turtles that came close to our boat. Dan Polley
