Art supplies

Hope to be there in a few months for an extended stay and now just figuring out what to bring. Last visit I brought ¼ sheets of paper and watercolor. Don’t want to try bringing oil paint on a plane these days. Here is a thread about art supplies: http://www.nicaliving.com/node/2094 There used to be a place in San Jose that had quite a bit of stuff including rolls of canvas.

I hope to resume painting after spending some quality time learning español. I was under the impression it might be too expensive a pursuit - I'd like to know what paints, canvasses and such go for in Nicaragua. I've never seen an arts supply store in Nicaragua but, I'm sure it is there somewhere. There is a gallery right next door to La Iglesia Merced off Xalteva in Granada run by a young Cuban gentleman - very talented. He offers classes as well. Galleria Oscura or something like that.
