This artwork was penned by a man who at the time had served his sentence but couldn't leave prison because he couldn't afford the Attorney and Court related fee's associated with his discharge paperwork.

Getting out of jail

The description may sound strange to some--that is, you could get out if you can afford the paperwork--but this is the reality. My friend Dora, a lawyer, works in the legal aid office (ok, is the legal aid office) of Cooperative Christine King. Most of her work is doing this paperwork to get people out of jail.
