Tropical and Subtropical Trees-Margaret Barwick-excellentSubmitted by BlackEagle on 20 August, 2007 - 04:11.
![]() My number#1 source of identification for all the varieties of trees that I encounter in Central America-covers flower, seed, fruit, and uses. Since many species of trees now grown are often imports that have gone wild it is particularly useful in trees in identifying trees that are non-native. A little pricey and definitely too big to carry around as a field manual I will often take photographs later identification.A good example was a tree that is now grown around the Chinandega area as a street tree. Called simply the India tree by locals I suspected it might be the Neem tree that sees wide-spread usage as an mosquito and insect control as well as shade tree in India.Looking it up, my assumption was correct.
