Driving out of the country without the vehicle exit permit.

heyeeayeeya

I brought a car that I would like to drive out of the country but I don't want to change the circulation to my name. Don't bother asking why.

Have any of you managed to drive your Nica cars out of the country without having a vehicle exit permit? If so was the circulation in your name and did that matter?

Or has anyone got a vehicle exit permit for a car they brought but was not in their name?

If the circulation certificate is not in your name

you will NOT be able to cross the border unless the actual owner is in the vehicle. In the eyes of the police the person listed on the ciculation certificate is the legal owner. You could get a PA from the person listed. This would have to be presented with the application for the exit visa for the vehicle.

I have never known anyone that managed to drive across the border without an exit visa for the car. If you don't have problems in Nicaragua you surely will in CR.

Good luck.....go to the

Good luck.....go to the police station and get all the information. I tried to drive my mom's volvo from mga to sjo and had to go back to mga when i got to peñas blancas because i was missing one of the many documents to exit the country with a vehicle that was not registered to me. As far as the exit permit, its required!

Good Luck

Not sure where you intend to go but from my trips to Costa Rica experience, even if you got it out of Nicaragua, I expect you would have two other problems: * Getting it into the other country. At least on the CR side, they seem to look at all the paperwork. * Getting it back into Nicaragua.

When you apply for the exit permit, they seem to do a good job of making sure everything matches before you get it. They want your circulation, your driver's license, insurance and possibly cédula or passport.

well I've got those things

well I've got those things and the escritora but the circulation and insurance is not in my name.

Thanks

Curculation is the problem

When I lived in Costa Rica, I had a car that was owned by a Costa Rican corporation (which I happened to own). In order for me to take the car out of Costa Rica, I had to go to a lawyer and get two notarized statements that said, I, as president of the corporation was going to let myself take the car out of the country. I then had to go to the public registry, give them one of the statements and get the exit permit.

Then, at the border I had to turn in the exit permit and show them the other original of the statement. So, if you destination is Costa Rica, even if you can convince Nicaragua it is ok, I think you could have a serious problem.

Yep I was thinking that

Yep I was thinking that might be the case, I wounder if things would be any easier in the "open boarder" countries to our north?

I think you will find the

I think you will find the same problem at the border with Honduras. I remember not too long ago when I was in Matagalpa, my sister-in-law was coming from Honduras to visit us. A similar situation stopped them cold at the border. Your best bet is to bite the bullet and overcome whatever reasons you have for not changing the circulation.

Power of attorney

Go se a lawyer / notary have a power of attorney document its named different in spanish from the named owner to you by insurance in your name $12 it works in all the countries i drove here that way and evry 2 months i drive to Cr to renew my permission, damn 10 year rule. The power of attorney fine works fine.

you got that right

yes indeed
