Some of you in business here in Nicaragua need to be aware of this new law. Especially if you are handling money transfers from unknown individuals.

This law was to include the real estate sector but they don't appear to have identified them directly in the law that was passed.

Not trying to make lawyers rich here but, maybe run it by your lawyer for an opinion on how it could affect you. The powers are quite far reaching.

He said; "FedEx is announcing major restructuring of the Express division(I'm an Express courier). Within three years most Express couriers will be part-time. So it looks more important than ever to find an affordable, liveable place I'd enjoy"

Call to Reduce Vegetable Imports

As a former ‘Food Basket of Central America’, Nicaragua imports a surprising $9 million of vegetables every year. Producers say that in order to reduce that dependency, a national plan needs to focus on improving the production of the estimated 12,000 farmers in the vegetable business. Even some of the more common vegetables such as onions, carrots, broccoli and celery are imported at the rate of 60% of total consumption. Growers will meet in July in Matagalpa to discuss policies and to turn the problem around so that import figures become export statistics.
