I am quite interested in maps. Here is a nice fairly detailed overview of a good portion of central american elevation via a tomographical map.

Tomographical maps such as these combined with other maps are very helpful in determining local climate this close to the equator, and large bodies of water.

RE to the "A Thought" post

I just read the following from the "A Thought" section on the right:

QUOTE:

"The keenest sorrow is to recognize ourselves as the sole cause of all our adversities.

— Sophocles"

I partially agree. This generally applies to all men, including myself. We contribute to our own (as well as other's) hurt by the state of our hearts. Thus it is worse than Sophocles stated; we do not just cause harm to ourselves, but to others. There is only one solution.

Open Formal Request For Nicareal to be Banned from Comments per Request

2.6
Average: 2.6 (5 votes)

This is an open request to the powers that be (Phil, and others if any) to keep nicareal from posting comments on this blog. He continues to post inflammatory comments on this blog, and keeps me from responding with his control as a "moderator". Let him ban me if you wish, but this is about a ban on him as specified. This is about moderation control. If this policy/action continues, at least I have documented this to the best of my ability. Personal vedetas are not part of responsibility. I and others choose to be here or not, and contribute or not.

Scientology Advertisement to be banned? and other issues

Average: 1 (4 votes)

I logged on, and was reading comments on "Christian man 001's blog" (yes, that is this blog). I can not post usually, because of nicareal's "religion ban", I then noticed the scientology advertisement on the right side. Scientology is a religion.

Now things are REALLY strange.

OPEN COMMENT TO NICAREAL:

You said:

"Some are part time Trolls. They supply useful information once a while but use an equal or greater amount of bandwidth to tease and upset others. Why? Just because they think they can! I consider someone using the site to preach religion of any kind to be a Troll. Just because they insert the word Nicaragua into the text does not make it appropriate content for this site. As a matter of fact, I think we should make it an official site policy not to discuss religion. We are getting enough tension with politics."

BLOG META 2

Average: 2.5 (4 votes)

I would just like to document (if possible) that many of my comments on my blog are never allowed to be published.

That is a big reason a lot of information is missing, or I have withheld some blogging and thus things seem disjointed.

Personally I believe the blogging should be discontinued as it has not been advertised in good faith. I myself will personally discontinue for other reasons, as Nicareal my act like a god, but is not the God most high.

Spanish course for Gringos useful to Latinos?

0

After giving the course on learning Spanish to a Latino, made by Michel Thomas, the initial reaction is positive. I assume this is for several reasons, one of which is that it breaks learning into pieces that involves short phrases, both in English and Spanish, progressing through the entire course with grammar and vocabulary. The end result is complicated grammar and the most common, and thus useful daily, vocabulary. This makes it possible for a course designed for gringos, to be used by Latinos.

I know that it has helped me in my daily activities here in Latin America.

"Blog - a personal discussion that others are welcome to read. It also might make sense that the blog creator would have control over the comments."

Here is the context.

Creole Language Creation and Nicaraguan Sign Language

Creoles are fascinating. Large numbers of people are sometimes put in a situation where they need to communicate in depth, and on a regular basis. But they have only a few words and insufficient grammar as their tools. What happens? Creoles happen. Such folks develop an entirely new language with rich and full grammar.

The children in Nicaragua basically employed the same mechanisms, even though they are/were deaf. I talk about this in my earlier post.
