I just got back from Nicaragua. It is the first time I have been there since I was 4 years old. Managua is one noisy city. On my first day I was awaken at 4:30am by "polbora", roosters, dogs barking and vendors.....and the honking! It seems people over there like their horns. I've seen some honk for the only purpose of honking.

Anyone know of any festivals that are held in September? I am not familiar with all the festive days overthere. Any help is appreciated.

I have been going crazy searching for online maps of Managua. I found a few general outline ones but nothing with street names or the whole city. I am traveling to Managua soon and I would appreciate if someone can suggest where I can get one in Managua that would be close to the airport. I have heard that some streets don't have names and that maps are almost non existant over there.

A frenchman and a nica are waiting for a bus at a bus stop. As the bus rounds the corner a lady in the distance starts running towards the bus stop. As she nears the stop, in her haste, she trips over her dress, falls and lands on her benind.

I find it hard to believe how woman there have tolerated such discusting behaviour. These are your daughters, sisters and mothers people.

I say we let these two duke-it-out. So far round 2 goes to chilindrina with 5 points deducted for hitting below the belt (called FisherCigarMan's wife "cochina").

On other more important matters. Does anyone know how the athletes representing Nicaragua are doing. I have looked for info all over the place...including the nica newspapers and found nothing so far. Anyone know of a source?
