Eric Volz once again (Please note these are my opinions not a moderator post.)

I just received an email form the Eric Volz organization. This in spite of several times opting out of their database.

Well he finally is publishing his book. I know he has a lot of supporters in this town. I want to make it clear, I am not one of them so please take my comments form that perspective.

Here is part of the email:

Lately a lot of posters have come out of the woodworks

and I think that is great!

Some have come out to contribute positively and are providing information to other posters. Those that do, do so not only on the site but usually are doing so via PM, email and in person when possible. Most of that work is rarely seen by the people reading the various blogs.

Since my last blog was totally taken over by:

A woman that seems to have a desperate need to have the last word at all costs, and a guy that keeps needling her just to see what happens, I have decided to take a different approach from here on in.

I think fyl is on to something with his [THREAD HIJACK] marker.

For reasons of sanity, time restraints and as fyl correctly pointed out, the search friendliness of the site, we have to instill a sense of organization, self control and discipline into the users of the site.

Is Nicaragua likely to experience a large influx of asylum seekers?

0

One poster here thinks we will see this happen.

I disagree. The US is no longer detaining asylum seekers for extended periods. (Relatively speaking)

The processing of asylum seeker applications in the US is becoming more streamlined and geared toward putting qualified applicants on the street much quicker. In turn I would imagine rejected applicants will be shipped out quicker.

Pelican Eyes management seem to be reading Nicaragua Living

0

I just quickly browsed my Facebook page in order to keep up with the happenings in the lives of my friends.

To my surprise I noticed Pelican Eyes advertising several Dinner Events and a Superbowl Party.

What came as no surprise were the prices for the dinners:

Superbowl Party:

A plate of roasted pig and side dishes, US $12 per plate. +15% tax + 10% Tip = US $15,-- (312 Cordoba)

Beer costs, according to the reservation staff, $3.-- to $ 4,-- per bottle plus 15% = 10%

So far 3 people have confirmed their attendance on Facebook. All are employees....

Threads being sidetracked... How can we avoid it?

0

Over the past few weeks we had several threads being sidetracked and diverted from their original subject. This mostly happened due to comments that offended other posters and their perceived need to respond to those offensive posts.

In order to keep information flowing and threads on track, I feel we all need to re read the post and ask our self if it adds information and/or perspective to the original thread. If it does not, Why post it?

Pelican Eyes – More questions than answers…

0

Since the middle of the night departure of Chris Berry, Pelican Eyes, and the problem it encounters have been shrouded in secrecy. Not one statement by the “Knights in shining armor” that rode in at the critical moment in their SUV’s. No a word of reassurance to the community of SJDS from the “Official Management” of Pedras y Olas. In other words, the community that supported the operation for years has more or less been told to get lost.

Property Taxes for property in Nicaragua will become due soon!

0

Yes folks, sorry to spoil your Happy Happy Season but this is just a little reminder that Cesar, (or Jose, or Jorge or whatever the name of the mayor this year) wants his due.

In most municipalities you will find a slight increase over the last year in property taxes.

Our company has offered a tax paying service for a number of years. We will be offering this service again this tax season.

This allows the absentee property owner to keep their property tax status current and avoid costly fines.

Here is a heartfelt thank you to my wife Christine

for putting up with me for 41 years.

We are going out to celebrate the occasion at SDJS newest restaurant Staradvari on the beach.

Is it just I that is losing interest in Honduras?

0

Now that all these things are happening in Nicaragua, who really cares any more about Honduras and the "Circus"?

Nicaragua is a lot closer to my heart than Honduras! While the Honduras saga was "interesting for a while", it is becoming obvious that a new US administration screwed up once again. Big surprise there!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is Nicaragua I care about!

Sorry, I keep forgetting i am supposed to take Valium according to ATZ.....
